USKO Karate welcomes you to the concept of Sports Karate. Our students learn more than just how to kick and punch. They learn self-discipline, etiquette and respect.

Our classes are taught in a relaxed but disciplined manner and are great for both children and adults alike. The varied workouts (Line work, Bag Work, Kata and Sparring) are both rewarding and stimulating.

We are starting a new Karate Class for Children on Sunday Mornings in Evesham.  The new class is in the Main Sports Hall at Evesham Leisure Centre at 10am until 11am.  Children 5 and over are welcome to come along and the first class is free, parents are welcome to stay and watch.

Karate is a great form of exercise and is fantastic for children as it improves concentration, co ordination and self esteem.  The classes are run in a family friendly environment by Father and Son Ed and Luke Mountney.

For further details please contact Ed on 01386 831695 or 07976 247182

04/03/13 - Evesham Karate Course March 2013

It was a great turnout at Evesham Leisure Centre for the first Karate Course of the year.

Luke did the warm up and then we split into groups and worked on katas, kihons, line work and bag work with Ed, Luke, Paul Stanley, Jack, Paul Barnard, Sophie and Harry putting us through our paces! Lots of students took gradings from Red and White Belt right up to Brown belt.  Before we new it the 3 hours had passed and Paul Stanley did a cool down before we finished.  Grading results will be announced at your usual karate class night.

Please Click here to see photographs from the Evesham Course - March 2013

Don't forget that Brown belt is the highest grading that can be taken on a day course, Brown and White, Brown and Black and Black Belt gradings can only be taken at the weekend courses at either Evesham in April or Cardiff in November.  There must be at least 6 months between gradings and a minimum of 2 courses must have been attended since your last grading, it is very important that you hand your license in at the courses for your attendance to be recorded in them.  Your instructor will let you know if you are ready to take your next grading.

19/02/13 - New Childrens Karate Course starting in Stratford Upon Avon

We are excited to be starting a brand new Karate class for children (5+) at Stratford upon Avon.  The new class starts on Thursday 28th February in the Dance Studio (School Main Entrance) at Stratford High School.  The class will run from 5:30pm to 6:30pm so is ideal for younger children as well as teenagers.  Beginners are more than welcome and don't forget the first session is absolutely free.

The classes are run in a friendly family environment by father of three, Ed Mountney.  Karate is fantastic for children as it helps to develop their confidence and also concentration as well as being great all round excercise.  The grading (belt) system and Kata badges are rewarding for children too as they give them something to work towards and a great sense of achievement when they get their next belt or Kata badge.

25/04/12 - Evesham Karate Weekend Course - April 2012

It was a busy weekend at Evesham Leisure Centre with Karate Students from Evesham, Stratford upon Avon, Bath, Banbury, Oxford, Wales and Basingstoke attending. On Saturday after the warm up we split into groups to go through Karate linework, then we practised our Katas, Kihons and Ohyo Gumite. Black Belt Gradings including first, second and third Dan were held after the course. On Sunday the Brown Belt Gradings took place followed by a great warm up and then we split into groups to learn new katas or work on ones that we already know, then we all took place in kata competitions. After a short break we split into groups and did either Bag work, Ohyo Gumite or Ippon Gumite and then either entered the team kata competition or worked on our sparring technique. At 2:30 we had a cool down and then the kata competition medals were presented and the Black Belt Grading results announced.
